Why Panda eh? Panda is an 18 month old Akita and he has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. 'Hi, I'm Panda, and I'm looking for love. And a home. And a family. I used to be loved and treasured in my old home, but my owner was poorly and couldn't care for me anymore so I was taken to the pound. From there I went to a rescue centre and it's here that I have been waiting patiently for my new home ever since.I really adore people and I would love a new family to love me. I am playful and bouncy and just desperate to please! I am quite picky about my doggy friends, I would like to be the only dog in the house....so I can get all the love and the fuss! I'm clean in my kennel and i haven't destroyed my bed or my toys.... I really will be a fabulous addition to my new family....please don't be put off by my size...I'm a gentle giant with all the people that I meet. I will make you a deal... I will give you all the love in the world in return for a forever home and your love...Please? I need you... |

Max came in to rescue due to a change in his owners work hours. Max is a Japanese Akita Inu, not an American Akita. Offers for adoption of Max are open to homes with 1. Someone who works part time or not at all. 2. Those with a spayed large breed bitch.(preferred but not essential) 3. Large breed experience 4. Commitment to training and socialisation Max loves watching animal programs on TV. He goes to bed in his crate which he loves when asked. He loves his crate which will have to go with him to his forever home. Currently in foster with an Akita BITCH and he is used to company and not being left on his own.

Needs to be separated from other dogs when fed. She loves human company and could live on her own or with a male depending on successfully introduction. Treble will be nervous around strangers and may take a little time to settle. |

Xena was picked up as a stray, unfortunatly she became ill and sent to the vets. It was found that she had swallowed things she should'nt have. After being x-rayed the vet thought she had staples and a plastic bag in her stomach. She keeps being sick and the wanted to operate, but the pound will not pay for her operation and she was due to be pts 17/12/11 However, ARW have agreed to take her in to kennels/foster if she has her medical bill payed. The lovely people on Doglost have started a Xena fund, to help towards the cost of her op, if anyone would like to dontate here are the details
**********UP-DATE****************
They did an endiscope down her throat to see if the could remove offending objects in her stomach, they could not find anything, so decided to operate. There where a few rotten food etc and cleaned it all out, they checked her bowels and all is well there, the vet thought there was a possiblity of a tumour in her bowels or stomach which was blocking food going in to/out of her stomach. They also speyed her whilst they where there and all was well at that end as well. She had a mammary lump removed and are waiting the results of the biopsy, which the result should be back next week. |
