Duchess is 4 years old and has spend a year of her life in kennels so far. Duchess was removed from her owners. She had been chained up and used as a breeding machine, having a litter every season. Duchess is easy to walk on a lead, extremely affectionate as well as beautiful inside and out. Duchess suffers from separation anxiety which can easily be worked on. ARW are prepared to support her treatment for this, whether it be anti anxiety medication or several sessions with a behaviourist. Duchess is spayed, microchipped and inoculated. Duchess just wants someone to love and cuddle up to. Please get in touch if you are keen to adopt this beautiful girl.

Poor duchess, she sounds very special

I've had dogs with seperation problems and it can be sorted with consistant training in quite a short time, it's a lot to do with dog gaining the trust that his/her owner is coming back home, I'm sure once Duchess feels secure in her new home she'll soon get out of any seperation problems

All being well I'll pick her up on Wednesday evening, arrangements are with the volunteers at the moment.
Has she a forever home? Yes, problems notwithstanding.
As my son says - who could resist that face? It's very gratifying to see that despite all that has happened to her she still has that imperious look so typical of many Akitas.
I'll try and post an update on Wednesday, the M6 and traffic nausea permitting.
