If you have a puppy, i dont think it should be left for more than an hour, when they are older and have learnt your routine i would not leave a dog for more than 4hrs. If you can get home in the lunch break and give the dog a walk, then you could possibly leave it for another 2 hrs.

no, i would never leave a puppy that long. right now i'm working 45min. away from home so now im not able to get home in my break and walk bailey (shih zhu) - but i dont know where i'm gonna work when i'm educated it could be a long way from my home or maybe very close but if a made a deal with my boss it could be possible to go walk a dog in my lunchbreak or maybe i could ask my boyfriend to do it. i don't like to leave animals so many hours pr. day - but i also need to work. (.
- If i ever get the chance to adopt an akita i would probably not adopt a puppy because they are easy to rehome so i'd rather get an old one (who's hopefully housebroken and not destructive when left alone.)
