TOPIC: Uveodermatalogic Disease or VKH

Re: Uveodermatalogic Disease or VKH 10 Sep 2013 13:49 #9216

Ahhh now I know what it is, I've never heard it called VKH

IHope Dawn has seen this post, she's been on the forum for years with her wonderful akita named JD, he has autoimune disease with all the same symptoms that you've described and he's on steroids, he's had some terrible flare ups but Dawn has always managed to get him through them. He was very young when diognosed and the good news is that he's now 9 years old and a very happy laid back boy He'll always have the disease but 9 years old is a good age and I'm sure he has a good few more years left in him, he's a very cheeky boy and just like your two he's showered with love and care and that plays amassive part in him reaching 9 years old

Perhaps if you do a forum "search" by putting in the search word "JD" you might get some informative threads up to peruse

Please keep us updated on things.

Hi all yes I'm still about

JD is struggling at the moment but still amazes me how he fights every day. As you said I feel he was sent to us for a reason and he has shown us about fighting our troubles.

He is on steroids and atopica he also is on meds for a tummy ulcer and he got gastric torsion 3 years ago they called it VKH when he was first diagnosed. We are from the north west. I wonder if it is an out break or the vets in the north west have got more knowledgeable in the disease. It will be the side affects of the meds that will be JD's down fall

If you need to ask me any thing please feel free to message me.

But from your post you are as much an expert as me LOL

give your bears a big hug from me and JD sends licks and slobbers

keep up the good work love and hugs Dawn xxxxx
