Thinking of Bill today as Zak went to the Bridge. We have been following his progress on the forum for a while but now he is at peace. We hope to share happy memories and celebrate his life in this thread. Bill and Zak have been forum members for many years now and his antics will be sorely missed.

Big hugs from Stephanie and Anouk. (Crying a river)

I hope you don't mind Bill but I have found a photo of you and your best friend Zak taken in 2006.

Be with out the pain and happy again Zak

If be I grow frail and weak,
And pain should wake me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle can’t be won.

You will be sad, I’ll understand,
Don’t let your grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love and friendship stand the test.

We’ve had so many happy years,
What is to come will hold no fears,
You’ll not want me to suffer, so,
When the time comes, please let me go.

I know in time, you too will see,
It is a kindness you do for me,
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering, I’ve been saved.

Do not grieve that it should be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do,
We’ve been so close, we two, these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

Zak, you were one special bear to all those who were part of your story. Run free and proud.

Hi Dawn and JD, thanks for all your kidness and thoughts it really does mean so much,I have had to have a couple of days of work as I am not coping to well at all really I feel so empty I went out for a walk this morning everywhere I went it seems that I walked there with Zak when I came home it was not nice at all their are reminders of him everywhere especially at the back door where he would scratch the door to come in.Bill&Zak. xxx

I felt that empty feeling for quite while after I lost my Zac. It will get lighter but he is imprinted on your heart. Try to dwell on fond memories. What you had with him was special and some people will never have that in their life time. I am not big on cliques but it is better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all.
It comes at a price as the pain associated with the loss can be excruciating. It puts some people off for life but the brave understand that life without love is incredibly unrewarding. I hope you start to feel better soon. It might help if you go away for a few days if possible. Get away from your home routine. xXx
