Due to marriage break up, moving to a smaller home and being one of three very much loved Akita's the owner has had to make the painful decision to let two of her babies go to new homes.
Suki is five years old and the owner says she is absolutely adorable, she is very pretty, her colours are brindle and white.
She has been spayed in the past few days
Suki is nervous when you first meet her but soon accepts you.
She is very territorial whether in the house or car.
She does not get on with other dogs although she lives with her sister and father since being spayed she no longer excepts her sister (after five years of being together)
Suki is walked at all times on a lead or lunge line.
She comes on site with all her jabs up to date and micro chipped. |

Khato is a complete baby,loves to be near her owner, loves cuddles,Khato is Black and white with baby dark eyes,she is the absolute peace maker of the three.
Khato loves her walks over the moors, she is very obedient and returns when asked, she also will walk to heel.
Neither Khato or her sister Suki are food aggressive but Suki being the more dominant of the two will try and steal the other dogs bones when they are given them.
The third dog in this group is their father who will stay with his owner due to his age. |

This lovely pair of older Akitas are Sandra and Rocko, aged 9 and 7 years respectively. Sadly they were brought into the care of Social Services after the death of their owner and they have been in kennels ever since, 10 months with no interest from any potential adopters.
Sandra is a sweet lady, she is extremely friendly and she just longs for fuss and attention, she is still lively and attentive. As for her lead walking, there is minimal pulling and she is happy to trot along at the side of you, she knows her sit command and she is very food motivated.
Rocko is very lively and active, he may have slight hip dysplasia as he sometimes hops when he runs but this can be discussed further with any potential adoptees and it certainly isn’t affecting his mobility and quality of life at the moment. He is friendly and inquisitive and like his Mum he walks well on the lead and is food motivated. He also has a couple of other older dog ailments which will be discussed further with any potential homes.
Please do not let this pairs age put you off, older Akitas can be very rewarding and much less demanding but more importantly they still have a great quality of life and so much love to give. If would be preferable if Sandra and Rocko could be rehomed together as they have always been together but separate homes would be considered for them now as it is now paramount they find home comforts in their twighlight years, kennels are no place for an older dog.
Social Services have kept Sandra and Rocko safe until now but unfortunately as is the same everywhere funding runs out and budgets are cut, therefore this lovely pairs future is somewhat uncertain. If you feel that you have room for one (or both) oldies in your home and heart please contact us urgently.

Diesel is approximately one year old. He is a boisterous teenager and we would like to place him in a home with an experienced, dominant owner (preferably male) who is able to put the time and effort in that Diesel requires. Roxy is speyed and due her boosters in Oct. & micro chipped. Oakie is a stray and have no history for him, because of this, he will not be placed with young children. Our rep found him very friendly and enjoyed being stroked all over. Did not seem to have any problems with being touched all over. He is not tested with cats. The staff had noticed he had a grumble at the other male Akita in the kennels, but no reaction with the other dogs. Pending a successful introduction, he could go with a bitch.
He likes his treats, but did take them gently.

This is a very URGENT case.
Kato is a smallish jap boy (due to poor feeding )who lives with cats,chickens,female Staffie,and other reptiles and fluffys.
The present owners rescued him from a bad situation,he it badly underweight due to not being fed correctly.
Kato lives with two older children at this time who ignore him and he them.
Kato needs to go to a home with people and possibly older children who understand this breed.
Kato has a great deal to offer his new owner but only if the new owner is willing to understand and help this lovely boy back to health with lots of TLC. |

Kira is a friendly girl who shows many typical traits of the Akita breed and is finding kennel life quite stressful. Kira enjoys treats and has some good basic training in place and knows SIT, WATCH and PAW. Like most Akita’s Kira can be stubborn at times and may choose when to follow instructions from her handler. Kira is house trained and travels well in the car. Kira loves people and enjoys all attention, she enjoys playing with toys her favourite game is fetch! Kira is looking for experienced owners who understand how to manage her behaviour and have experience of owning an Akita before. Kira would like to be the only dog in her new home and is not suitable to live with small animals to concentrate on her training. Kira is looking for a home out of the city and she will need direct access to a secure garden. Once settled she will be a fun and loyal addition to her new home. The Akita is an intelligent breed, who is fearless and bold. They are very loyal and flourish on firm leadership. Akita's should be supervised around other household pets.
Kira has shows high chase and predatory behaviour around small animals and will chase and stalk small dog. She has not shown and aggression and has been worked on by our behaviour team who have advised she is kept on lead when out walking.
