TOPIC: Update Zaks thyroid problem-or not!

Re: Update Zaks thyroid problem-or not! 13 Jul 2012 22:09 #5864

The liquidized food will get some nutrients into him and it will be easier to digest He'll proberly have a lot of discomfort in his chest and tummy muscles from all that retching, but it'll soon get better with plenty of rest. it sounds like he's doing really well, slowley but surely

Morning everyone, Zak had another good night,my worry is him not eating, all he has eaten since weds is a handfull of charcoal biscuits(for his bloat) and probabley 4/5,60ml syringe full of liquidised food,I tried him this morning with some small bits of chicken soaked in gravy but he just turned his head away,he has not been to poo since weds and the only time he wees is when he is retching despite being in the garden yesterday,Ireally dont know how long he can go without eating properly before he starts to cause himself more problems,my plan for today is to get some baby food and feed this to him little and often Iam not sure if baby food will be ok for him Iwould be grateful for anyones thoughts on this.Bill&Zak.

Morning flower

Its such a worry

I don't know how long they can go with out eating but on a personal nots JD went about 4 days after his bloat and he eat the tinned hill it was like elation to see him eat.

I always say when JD is sleeping and snoring I can relax I'm not sure if its the same for Zak but all JD's complaints he couldn't settle so when i saw him sleeping I felt relieved.

Cant believe the lung worm has got to him its made me look into getting JD the jab as it would be his luck to get this awful thing.

sending special vibes to the little man and one day at a time stay strong love and hugs Dawn xxxxx

Hi Dawn and JD,had a call from the vet this morning to see how Zak was,she has had another look at the xrays and cannot see any reason to cause this problem, she said not to worry too much about him not eating at the moment as long as he is drinking, the vet is going to ring back this afternoon for another chat.He has got pretty bad mucus on his chest and his throat which I am pretty sure is the reason he does not want to eat and it is also making him so down I nipped out and got some lambs liver and will get this in the liquidiser for this afternoon as he has already had a small amount of food earlier.Bill&Zak.

Has the vet not given you anything for Zak's chest Bill ?? I thought he might have given him anti-biotics. ??
Good to hear he, at least, he had a good night. I'm sure baby food food would be fine, or liquidise some chicken, fish etc for him.
