Meet Luna – A Gorgeous Akita Seeking Her Forever Home
We are assisting another rescue in finding the ideal home for Luna. This 3 year old Akita who has unfortunately been returned to kennels solely due to her dislike of the family cat. There were no other issues noted.
Luna is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
About Luna
Luna is a calm, affectionate dog with a generally relaxed nature, though she does enjoy the occasional burst of energy, her “zoomies,” can be quite impressive given her size.
She is house trained and settles into a consistent routine with ease. She prefers not to be confined to closed rooms and likes access to the home, due to her natural protective instincts. Despite this, she sleeps soundly through the night with no fuss.
Luna is respectful in the home and does not chew furniture, though she has been known to investigate boxes or parcels left within reach. She enjoys her daily routine of treats, playtime, walks, and of course, cuddles. She loves toys and is happy to share them, but she may guard high value items like bones, so these are best left untouched once given.
Temperament & Behaviour
Friendly with people and confident in new environments
Calm around loud or unusual noises, including fireworks and heavy traffic.
Very strong on the lead, so an owner capable of handling a large, powerful breed is essential.
Not suitable for homes with cats or small children
Enjoys affection, companionship, and being part of the household routine.
Ideal Home
Luna would thrive in a home with:
Adults or families with children aged 15+
No cats or small animals
A secure garden with 6ft fencing (non-negotiable)
Someone home for most of the day, she is not suited to long periods of being left alone
Breed experienced owners
Luna is a loving, loyal dog who will make a wonderful companion for the right home. She is affectionate, protective, enjoys her treats (especially chicken and biscuits!), and would be a rewarding addition to an experienced household ready to appreciate the unique qualities of this beautiful breed.
