Meet Marvellous Milo!
We are looking for a very special adopter for Milo, an Akita cross.
Ideally the person we are looking for has breed experience or has had a dog that has come from a similar background of having a poor start in life.
Milo is a wonderful, energetic boy who has sadly missed out on all the best bits of his puppyhood. He is now almost 2 years old & still displays puppy behaviour at times. He had a very restricted first year, spent in a crate with no socialisation of the outside world. Due to this, Milo sadly lacked basic socialisation and had limited knowledge of the outside world, until now.
The amazing team of Volunteers at the rescue where he is situated have been taking Milo out on adventures twice a week & this has really boosted his social skills. Milo is fantastic around the other dogs within the pack walk & responds well to his main handler, who he has formed a strong bond with.
Milo knows basic cues such as sit, paw, lay down and is very trainable using tasty treats!
Our assessment of Milo indicated that he has a lot of intelligence. He would certainly benefit from training classes.
Milo would be a fantastic pet for active adopters who have a lot of time to dedicate to him. Anyone with Akita or perhaps Malinois experience would be ideal.
He would not be suitable for first time dog owners.
Milo is in desperate need of continuing to learn the ways of the outdoor world & there is only so much the rescue can show him!
