Meet Sirius: A Bright and Playful Young Akita Looking for His Forever Home
Sirius is a striking young Akita, around 16-18 months old, neutered and with his vaccinations started.
We are advertising Sirius on behalf of another rescue in order to help them find the perfect home for him.
This clever boy has bags of personality, sometimes stubborn, sometimes cheeky, much like a teenager who prefers doing things in his own time. Because of this, Sirius isn’t suitable for first time dog owners. He will thrive best with someone who has experience with Akitas or similar breeds and understands their independent nature.
Sirius has lots of wonderful qualities:
Shows no aggression towards people and generally ignores other dogs when out.
Fully house trained.
Walks nicely on the lead.
Very food motivated.
Knows and responds to a range of commands.
Travels well in the car.
Playful and full of energy.
Home requirements:
Children must be 8+ and confident around large dogs.
Could potentially live with a patient, not overly dominant spayed female dog of similar size, based on careful introductions.
Cats and small furries are untested, so a home without them is safest.
A secure garden with 6ft fencing is essential.
If you live in rented accommodation we must see proof of landlord’s permission to house a large breed dog on the premises.
Sirius would do best in a home where he isn’t left alone for long periods.
Currently based in Essex, potential adopters must be prepared to travel to meet him.
An application form is required in the first instance, so please only apply if you’re available to progress the adoption in the coming weeks.
If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, and intelligent companion, Sirius could be the perfect match.
