Meet Zeus
Zeus is a beautiful, young (18 month old), adolescent dog with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. He is incredibly friendly and welcoming, immediately greeting visitors with enthusiasm and joy. Due to limited visitors in his current home, Zeus can be excited when meeting new people, his bouncy nature is simply his way of saying hello!
Despite his excitement, Zeus is affectionate and enjoys close contact. He leans in for cuddles and happily accepts hugs, strokes, and attention on his head, back, and sides. He loves playing with toys and shares well, allowing toys to be taken without issue.
Personality & Behaviour
Zeus is energetic, playful, and very people oriented. He seeks interaction and enjoys companionship but is also able to settle himself, often taking breaks to relax in the garden. He is comfortable in his home environment and unfazed by everyday noises, people passing by, or external sounds.
On walks, Zeus starts off enthusiastic but quickly settles into a calmer pace. He enjoys sniffing and exploring and can walk close to heel once he’s had time to decompress. He is confident and environmentally sound, not bothered by noise or unexpected activity. He observes his surroundings calmly without barking or pulling.
Training & Intelligence
Zeus is a clever dog who responds very well to positive, reward based training. He takes treats gently, even when excited, and already knows several commands including sit, lie down, stay/wait, and paw. He can maintain focus for extended periods and shows strong potential to learn more with consistent training. He also enjoys being groomed.
Social Skills
Zeus is happy to meet friendly, non-aggressive dogs and can be polite when introduced appropriately. He allows children to stroke him when they approach calmly and offer a treat, but due to his size and bouncy enthusiasm, he would be best suited to a home with children aged 12 years and over.
He has shown no strong prey drive and will calmly watch birds and other animals, though he would not be suitable for a home with cats.
Ideal Home
Zeus would thrive in an active home where he can receive:
Regular exercise and longer walks.
Ongoing training and mental stimulation
Wider socialisation
Clear, consistent boundaries to help manage his jumping and excitement.
He would suit an adopter with experience of large or energetic breeds, or someone committed to continuing his training.
Zeus could live:
As the only pet, or
With a spayed, calm, large-breed female dog, following careful introductions.
In Summary
Zeus is a loving, intelligent, high energy young dog who has so much potential. With the right guidance, exercise, and companionship, he will make a loyal, affectionate, and joyful addition to the right home.
