Sheeba is looking for an experienced, adult only home, with no visiting young children, where she can enjoy a calm and predictable lifestyle. She would prefer to be the only pet in the home, as she is happiest when she doesn’t have to share her space with other animals. She is also looking for a home where someone is around for much of the day, as she can become distressed if left alone for long periods. With regular exercise, mental stimulation and a consistent routine, this is something that could be worked on if her new family are prepared to put the time and effort into helping her.
Sheeba would love a secure garden with robust 6ft fencing where she can safely enjoy time outdoors to play, explore and sniff.
Like many dogs, Sheeba has experienced a lot of change in recent months. She went from living in a spacious home to a third floor flat when family circumstances changed, and the arrival of a young child has understandably left her feeling unsettled. Sheeba prefers to move away from young children rather than interact with them, so she is seeking a child free home where she can feel comfortable and relaxed.
Sheeba already knows some of her basic cues, including sit, lie down and giving a paw, and she is very food motivated, making further training both rewarding and fun. She can be strong on the lead and would benefit from continued training and guidance from her new family.
When out and about, Sheeba is very interested in other dogs and enjoys watching them, but she can become vocal and bark. Her new owners will need to advocate for her, manage her environment appropriately and continue building her confidence around other dogs.
Sheeba can also be worried by fireworks and can find veterinary visits stressful, so positive muzzle training would be beneficial to help her feel more comfortable when handling is required. Some desensitisation work and preparation ahead of fireworks season would also help her feel more settled.
