Micky is a loving, affectionate 3 year old American Akita who truly enjoys being close to the people he trusts. Once he feels safe, his gentle and loyal nature really shines through, and he settles beautifully into a calm home environment. He likes routine and familiarity, and he finds comfort in being near his carers. He is generally easygoing in the home and responds well to kindness, consistency, and understanding.
Micky has no history of aggression and is a sweet natured dog who enjoys companionship and reassurance. Micky would thrive in a patient, caring home where his space is respected and he is given the time to relax and build trust. In the right environment, he has all the qualities of a devoted and affectionate companion who will form a strong, lasting bond with his new family.
Mickey knows basic commands but can be strong on the lead therefore needs owners with large breed experience to continue his ongoing training. He is very food motivated and loves affection, especially having his ear scratched. Mickey would be best suited in a home with dog savvy children aged 5+. He is not suited to life in a flat and would need a home with plenty of space with 6ft fencing where he can play in the garden safely.
He will need to be the only pet in the home as he has only ever lived in a one pet household. Mickey has a huge amount of potential to be an amazing family pet, he requires owners who are committed to his ongoing training and can give him the time he deserves.
