Meet Nyx, our newest arrival and the latest addition to the ARW family.
Nyx takes us over our kennel capacity, but when we were asked if we could help this young boy, how could we possibly say no?
At just 14 months old, Nyx came into our care after his owner, who had been banned from keeping animals, booked him in to be euthanised.
Thankfully, a member of the veterinary team contacted ARW, giving us the opportunity to step in and save his life.
Originally living on a caravan site with two older female dogs, Nyx’s world changed dramatically through no fault of his own, he found himself at risk simply because he had nowhere else to go after his owners ban.
We named him Nyx in memory of a beloved pup belonging to one of our supporters who sadly passed away this week. It felt like a fitting tribute. While one precious life was heartbreakingly cut short, another was given the chance to begin again…🤍🕊️
Nyx is now safe and settling into the care of our wonderful kennel team. He is getting the opportunity to experience the care, security and kindness that every dog deserves.
Once again a big thank you to Dave and Lynne for transporting another Akita in Need to safety for us 🩷
Over the coming week he will begin his assessment, allowing us to get to know his personality, and decide the type of home that will suit him best.
Having lived previously with older female dogs we feel he would be fine with a spayed, patient female dog of a similar size.
We’ll keep you updated on his progress as he starts this new chapter… So watch this space 👀
