Lily’s Wait is over

Pauline & Brian have been avid ARW supporters since the start back in 2005. They were members of the ARW Forum way back before we all moved over to social media.

We met Pauline & Brian with their Akita Benny on a pack walk in Essex. When Benny passed away with age related illness, they adopted Asia from ARW. When Asia had gone to Rainbow Bridge, the couple adopted ARW’s Hugo in 2018. Hugo joined Benny and Asia at Rainbow Bridge earlier this year leaving a very Akita shaped gap on the sofa and in their hearts.

At just short of age six, Lily came to ARW’s attention. Someone stepped in last minute when her owner was in the throes of walking her to the local vet to “get rid” of her. Lily was quite anxious, a bit on the slim side and her nails were long and painful to look at, let alone walk on.

ARW supporter, Paul kindly took the day off work to assist ARW in bringing Lily to safety in kennels. ARW arranged a vet visit and got Lilys jabs started, flea treatment and wormer sorted.

Pauline & Brian saw Lily’s ARW advert and reached out to offer her a home. ❤️

Distance was no issue as ARW supporters and adopters, Em and her brother, Scott, volunteered for, now not so secret a mission, to collect Lily from kennels in Slough, and drove her to Chelmsford to meet up with Pauline & Brian.

Lily has made herself at home, had her second jab and is loving the garden and her regular walks.

Lily is now Lily Jones. ❤️

Thank you to all involved in making this adoption possible. ❤️
