Skye’s Wait is Over

Two year old Skye spent four months with Ian & Viola after her owner sadly passed away. Ian & Viola were already mid plan with emigration to Kenya. They reached out to ARW to find Skye her forever home.

ARW adopter and supporter, Marcia kindly temperament assessed Skye on ARW’s behalf. Skye was an exceptional Akita, and very loved.

Ken & Christine had been looking forward to retirement as they felt this would be when they could give their time and attention to an Akita in need.

Their very supportive relative, Jill, owned Akitas and was on ARW’s representatives map. ARW home checked and a few fence adaptations were recommended and implemented. With up to eight visiting grandchildren, an Akita placed in this home would need to be of exceptional temperament. It was also hopeful that an Akita placed would eventually get on with Jill’s laid back male Akita to make family visits a joy.

ARW introduced Skye’s owners to Ken, Christine and Jill. It was quite a journey and an emotional handover of Skye. Ian and Viola left the UK safe in the knowledge that Skye had found her forever home.

Skye has fitted into her new home as if she has always been there. ARW look forward to updates so that we can share the joy of her life in Norfolk.

Oh those country walks! ❤️

Thank you to ARW supporters Marcia and Jill for their assistance in making this adoption possible.
