ARW are overjoyed to share the wonderful news that Miki has found her forever home!
Miki was advertised by ARW on behalf of another rescue into which she was born.
A stunning 5 year old, long coat Akita, she is every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
Miki entered the world in rescue after her mum arrived pregnant, and from day one she has been surrounded by love and care.
The only long coat in her litter, Miki’s first adoption through the rescue sadly didn’t work out. Thankfully, with rescue back-up in place, Miki was later adopted by a devoted ARW supporter who gave her a loving home. Heartbreakingly, her adopter recently passed away, and Miki once again found herself needing the safety of the rescue.
Miki returned to her original rescue under rescue back-up and was advertised by ARW, patiently waiting for that special family to call her own.

Long term ARW adopter Jean had recently lost her beloved Akita, Millie, late last year. (Millie had also come to ARW from a council pound, arriving pregnant and later giving birth to six healthy pups).
After Millie’s passing, Jean was understandably bereft and deeply missed having an Akita companion by her side.
ARW had been patiently searching for the right match for Jean and then along came Miki.
These two lovely ladies have quickly become inseparable. Miki has settled beautifully into her new home, happily claiming her spot on Jean’s bed and settee.
They are enjoying gentle walks together and, as they step into the new year side by side, both hearts have been reignited, two souls finding comfort, companionship, and joy once more.
Miki is finally home, exactly where she was always meant to be. ![]()
